2025 was a year of acceleration. Organizations moved faster, adopted new patterns more confidently, and pushed digital experiences toward more personalization and more efficiency.

Here are the lessons that feel most important to carry forward.

Clarity leads to better decisions

Whether planning migrations, adopting new tools, or building personalization, teams that understand the why behind their decisions see meaningful progress. Tools cannot replace strategy. As AI and LLMs change how we work, and how fast work happens, strategy becomes that much more important.

Content is still the backbone

Even as AI drives more decision-making, content and messaging determine whether users find value. Content quality and structure continue to separate successful programs from the rest. Although there are likely some changes to structure to facilitate the consumption of content by LLMs, quality content is still the backbone of value.

Governance creates sustainability

High-performing teams stay aligned. Governance ensures that growth creates strength, not chaos. The more distributed the organization, the more essential the guardrails. The more scaling we add via AI, the more important the guardrails. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about the importance of these guardrails while working with Corey Caplette over at Velir on a laundry list of potential AI use cases for clients.

Community makes us more effective

Knowledge grows faster when shared openly. Communities make technology feel more human. Collaboration reduces risk and increases confidence. As we all navigate this new, AI-centric world, collaboration and cohesion will remain paramount.
